Man struck by vehicle in Oshawa, suffers life-threatening injuries

A man has been airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.

Durham police responded to a call on Saturday at approximately 1:35 a.m. in the area of Simcoe Street North, north of Howden Road, after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

A 27-year-old male from Toronto was walking southbound on the east side of the road when he was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

The male was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in critical condition. The driver of the truck remained on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
