Driver stabbed, robbed of cellphone during road rage incident in Scarborough

Police are searching for suspects after a driver was stabbed and had his cellphone stolen during a road rage incident in Scarborough.

Officers responded to the area of Markham Road and Steeles Avenue East just before 10 p.m. Sunday for reports of someone stabbed during an apparent robbery.

Police tell CityNews the stabbing was the result of a road rage incident that started on the street and continue into a plaza parking lot. Investigators say the victim’s cellphone was stolen by the suspects while he was trying to record a video.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say two male suspects fled in a blue BMW X3.

The investigation is ongoing.
