Driver dead in single-vehicle crash in Midtown Toronto

A man was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead following a single-vehicle crash in Midtown Toronto. It's not clear what caused the crash or whether the man suffered a medical emergency.

A male driver is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Midtown Toronto.

The crash occurred in the Clifton Road and Mount Pleasant Road area at around 7:15 a.m. on Friday.

Authorities said a driver crashed into a pole, and one man was rushed to a trauma centre, where he died of his injuries.

It’s unclear what led to the crash. The age of the victim was not immediately provided.

Toronto police said road closures and delays are expected on Rose Park Drive.
