Man, 23, identified in fatal North York stabbing

Toronto police have identified the city’s latest homicide victim after a 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed in North York over the weekend.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a stabbing just before 10 p.m. on Sunday near Yonge Street and Hendon Avenue, north of Finch subway station.

Police said a man was stabbed and lying in the southbound curb lane on Yonge Street at Hendon Avenue. The victim was rushed to a trauma centre, where he was pronounced dead.

On Monday, the male victim was identified as 23-year-old Joyous Magdirila of Toronto.

The homicide unit continues to investigate. There is no information on suspects.
