Man in 30s shot and killed in Hamilton, police say

Police are investigating a late night shooting in Hamilton that left a man in his 30s dead.

Officers responded to the area of Herkimer and Bay streets around 11 p.m. Tuesday for reports of shots being fired.

Police located a man suffering from gunshots wounds in an alley and found multiple bullet casings in the area. The victim, 36-year-old Tito Kelly from Hamilton, was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A firearm was recovered at the scene of the shooting.

Investigators have not released any suspect information but say they are looking for a small royal blue four door sedan with dark tint which fled the scene westbound on Markland Street at a high rate of speed.

A short time later, police say they received information that another person showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Investigators are trying to determine if the two incidents are connected.
