Repeat offender facing 4th impaired driving charge in last 18 months

Peel police say they’ve arrested and charged a 53-year-old repeat offender for impaired driving.

Officers say Sandra Emran was stopped in the area of Bramalea Road and Balmoral Drive in Brampton on Oct. 4 and charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired, refusing a urine sample, operating while prohibited and driving while under suspension.

Police say this was Emran’s fourth arrest for impaired driving in the last 18 months.

Police say at the time of the arrest, Emran was under a Canada-wide driving ban and three other Highway Traffic Act-related driving bans. She is also currently facing three separate charges for driving while under suspension and impaired driving.

Emran appeared for a bail hearing on Oct. 5 and was released on her own recognizance.
