Police say man failed to inform sex partner that he was HIV positive

Toronto police say a Stoney Creek man is wanted for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a woman without disclosing that he was HIV positive.
Police say the man and woman met online and had a sexual relationship between June 2019 and 2021.
“The man was HIV positive at the time and failed to disclose his HIV status,” police wrote in a news release.
Gabriel Matheka, 35, of Stoney Creek is wanted for aggravated sexual assault.
Police say the suspect is known to use online dating apps and they’re urging anyone who may have been intimate with him to seek medical attention and call police.
Matheka is described as five foot eight, clean-shaven with a medium build and shaved head.
