Two youth in custody after reports of gun posted to social media at Brampton high school

Two young people are in custody and a lockdown has been lifted at a Brampton high school after reports that a student posted a gun on social media.

Peel police officers were called to Sandalwood Heights Secondary School, near Sandalwood Parkway and Torbram Road, around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say two young people were taken into custody and a replica firearm was seized. It’s unclear if the suspects were students at the school.

No injuries have been reported.

The lockdown at the high school has been lifted and the investigation is ongoing.
