Man, 70, struck and killed by driver in North York

A man died after being struck by a driver in North York on Thursday night, police said.
Officers were called to the area of Jane Street and Clair Road around 7 p.m. for reports someone had been hit by a vehicle.
It’s reported that a 53-year-old man was driving a 2019 Toyota C-HR southbound on Jane Street at Clair Road when he hit a 70-year-old pedestrian who had been crossing Jane Street on the north side of the intersection.
The 70-year-old man was taken to a nearby trauma centre, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Police said the driver remained at the scene.
