Cyclist dies after being struck by 2 vehicles in Scarborough

A cyclist died after he was struck by two vehicles in Scarborough on Monday evening, Toronto police said.

Emergency crews were called to the Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East area just after 5:30 p.m.

In an update from investigators, police said a 47-year-old man was riding a bike westbound on St. Clair Avenue East, west of Birchmount Road when he was struck by the driver of a 2019 Toyota Corolla.

The male cyclist was then struck by the driver of a 2021 Mazda CX5. He was transported to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Both remained on scene, and the drivers are cooperating with the investigation.

There’s no word on possible charges at this point.
