Woman dies after being shot in Vaughan Mills parking lot, two men arrested

A woman has died, and two men are in custody in what York Regional Police believe was a targeted shooting in the Vaughan Mills parking lot Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to the area just before 5:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting after mall security found the woman in the parking lot.
The female victim, believed to be in her 20s, was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities are still working on notifying the next of kin.
Two male suspects have been taken into custody after they allegedly stole the woman’s vehicle. No charges have been laid, and the investigation is ongoing.
A police spokesperson tells CityNews that the shooting appears to be targeted, and authorities are not looking for any other suspects.
A media officer is expected to provide additional details on the investigation at a separate press conference at 11 a.m.
