TTC, union issue statements
Det. Sgt. Davis said it’s too early in the investigation to determine if the suspects and victim were known to each other.
TTC CEO Rick Leary said they are shocked and saddened to learn about the fatal stabbing at Jane and added that TTC will assist police in whatever ways they can during the investigation.

“The safety of our customers and employees is paramount, and I would encourage anyone who has any information about the incident to contact the police at 416-808-1100,” Leary wrote in a statement.
ATU Local 113, representing nearly 12,000 public transit workers, called the rising attacks against passengers and workers unacceptable.
“Last night, there was a tragic incident of violence outside of Jane station that resulted in the death of a passenger. At this time, ATU Local 113 would like to extend our condolences to the loved ones of this individual. Our thoughts are with you,” the union wrote in a statement.
“Public transit should be a safe space.”
