2 arrested, 2 sought after hit-and-run crash in Cabbagetown

Two people are in custody and the search is on for two others following a hit-and-run crash in Cabbagetown.

Toronto police say a vehicle collided with a TTC streetcar before striking another vehicle head-on in the Gerrard Street and River Street area just after 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say four occupants of the vehicle fled on foot but that two were eventually found and arrested.

“Out of nowhere this Mercedes came flying down and clipped the side of the streetcar and smashed head-on right into me,” Josh Anderson, the driver of the car that was struck, tells CityNews.

“Next thing I know I see all four doors bang open like out of a movie and four kids come running out of here, straight down River Street.”

No serious injuries were reported.
