Man, 64, struck and killed in Scarborough collision

A 64-year-old man is dead after they were struck by a driver in Scarborough on Saturday.
Toronto police say the man was crossing Sheppard Avenue East from the north side to the south side at Palmdale Drive just after 5:30 p.m. when they stopped in the centre turning lane to wait for a break in eastbound traffic.
A 52-year-old woman in a black Audi SUV going westbound on Sheppard struck the man.
Life-saving measures were performed on the man before they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver remained at the scene.
