Elderly woman dead, man critically injured in Vaughan crash

An 87-year-old woman is dead, and a 90-year-old man is in hospital in critical condition following a multi-vehicle crash in Vaughan that injured several others.

York Regional Police (YRP) officers responded to reports of a collision in the Jane Street and Auto Vaughan Drive area at around 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Police said a black SUV and a white pickup truck collided, and all three occupants of the SUV were rushed to a local hospital. The driver, an 87-year-old woman, died from her injuries, while a 90-year-old man is currently in critical condition.

Five occupants of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with dashcam footage or additional information to come forward.
