Suspects sought after shooting during Vaughan home invasion

York Regional Police investigators are on the hunt for multiple suspects after a shooting during a home invasion in Vaughan early Monday morning sent one person to hospital.

Police say five suspects broke through a rear glass door and stormed a home in the Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Turk Avenue area at around 3:49 a.m. on Jan. 6.

At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun, police added.

“When the residents were confronted, a struggle ensued and the gun was discharged,” YRP said in a release.

“A victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

No other residents were hurt, but police believe one of the suspect may have been injured.

They fled in a dark-coloured SUV. The gun was recovered at the scene.

All of the suspects remain at large.

They are described as:

Suspect #1: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately five feet 10 inches tall with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweater, black balaclava and carrying a handgun with an extended magazine.

Suspect #2: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately five feet eight inches tall with a skinny build, wearing a balaclava with unknown clothing.

Suspect #3 and #4: male, 25 to 30 years old, no description available.

Suspect #5: no description available
