The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) says service has resumed at dozens of stops after operations were halted on Tuesday evening due to hazardous winter driving conditions.
“We have reports from #TTC operators on the roads that conditions have worsened to the point we will be taking our 56 storm stops out of service until further notice,” officials wrote in a social media post shared just before 8 p.m.
“We know this will be inconvenient for some customers, but their safety and the safety of our operators are paramount.”
A TTC spokesperson confirmed just before 5 a.m. that routes were fully operational.
A snowy evening impacted commuters in Toronto on Tuesday evening, with 5 to 10 cm falling in various parts of the city, leading to widespread weather alerts.
