Two North York schools evacuated due to ventilation/plumbing issue

A North York building that houses two schools has been evacuated due to a ventilation/plumbing issues.

Toronto police say they were called to Sheppard Public School and Africentric Alternative School around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured in the incident.

The students are still on shelter buses to keep warm during the evacuation.

Police originally were called for reports of a gas leak but it was later determined to be a ventilation/plumbing issue.
