May 14 – StreetBeat – Two Men Stabbed In East End Incidents

Two men were stabbed in separate incidents in the east end on Monday night.

The first saw a man knifed at McCowan & Blue Lagoon Ct.   He was rushed to hospital with serious wounds but is expected to survive.    Police have been looking for a suspect and evidence, but the victim’s apparently not co-operating with detectives.

Another stabbing victim arrived at hospital with neck and back wounds.    He’s in stable condition.    Police are trying to determine why he was attacked on Coxwell near Gerrard.   


Police Pursuit Ends With Pair Of Collisions

A man was taken to hospital following a police chase that began in York Region and came to an abrupt finish in North York. The pursuit ended after a York police cruiser crashed into a tree in the front yard of a residence near Jane and Wilson at about 4:30am Monday. The suspect’s vehicle, meanwhile, collided with a van. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital. There’s no word on the condition of the officer.

Firefighters Extinguish House Fire Quickly

Firefighters made quick work of a blaze in a home on Dovercourt near Bloor Monday. It’s unclear what caused the fire, which broke out at about 3am. Most of the damage occurred in the basement of the residence, and fortunately no one was hurt. Officials are still probing the cause.
