Tim Hortons changes cup sizes in Kingston, Sudbury

Tim Hortons is testing out new cup sizes in Ontario for all hot beverages, eliminating the small and introducing a 710 ml extra-large.

The sizes will match those in the United States, where the 236 ml small was never used. The medium will now become a small.

“The prices haven’t changed per ounce – it’s just the names,” spokesperson Nick Javor told CityNews.ca.

Starting Monday, the new sizes will be tested out in Kingston and Sudbury. In Kingston, the small will become the extra small. In Sudbury, the small has been eliminated.

“It’s just to test the reaction. This could all be naught in two weeks, or it could be permanent,” Javor said.

He added, however, that the small is “not a very big mover” for Tim Hortons.

“Customer trends have moved to a larger number of ounces,” he added.
