One person rushed to hospital after shooting in Lawrence Heights

One person has been taken to hospital after a shooting in the area of the Lawrence West subway station Sunday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 6 p.m.

Officials discovered a 27-year-old male victim, at the Lawrence West subway station. He was suffering from at two gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

Police tell CityNews the victim was actually shot on nearby Flemington Road, and driven to the subway station, where EMS workers attended to him.

The suspect approached the victim on the sidewalk, pulled out a handgun and shot him twice, in the back and the arm.

Investigators are looking for a suspect described as a black male, 25, 6’ tall, 190-200 lbs with a slim build, a chubby face and goatee, last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a white insignia on the front, a black hoody zip-up jacket, black track pants and running shoes.
