Man injured in shooting near Jane and Sheppard

A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after a shooting near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West on Tuesday.

Police were called to Laura Road after reports of several gunshots heard in the area.

The victim was found a short distance from the scene.

Paramedics said the man suffered a gunshot wound to the torso. His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.

There has been no word on suspects.

Laura Road has been closed from Lomar Drive to Stanley Road while police investigate.
