Leafs Win First Pre-Season Game

The Toronto Maple Leafs earned their first victory of the pre-season, edging the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 on Wednesday night in Winnipeg .
Chad Kilger scored the winning goal from his knees to lift the Buds to victory.
Kilger took a pass from Bates Battaglia and managed to flip the puck past Phoenix goalie Alex Auld at 12:03 of the third period.
Alex Steen, a Winnipeg native, scored the first goal of the game in the city where his father, Thomas, was an NHL star. Jason Blake scored Toronto ‘s other goal.
Martin Hanzal and Daniel Winnik scored for the Coyotes.
The two teams play each other again Thursday night in Toronto .
