A blogger in Vancouver has been ordered by the provincial government to stop letting his kids ride the city bus alone.
In his blog, ‘5 Kids, 1 Condo,’ Adrian Crook says he has spent the past two years teaching his four oldest children, aged 7-11, to take the bus to and from school.
However, after a complaint to the Ministry of Children and Family Development, an investigation was launched.
Crook says he had to sign a ‘Safety Plan’ ahead of the investigation, stating that he wouldn’t let the kids ride the bus alone until it was completed.
He has now been told children under 10 are not allowed to ride the bus unsupervised and that children under 12 can’t be responsible for the younger children when there is no adult present.
In his blog, Crook says he plans to challenge the provincial government in court, and has set up a fundraising page to raise money for legal fees.
