Green Party Fails To Make Impact

Going ‘Green’ may have become an admirable lifestyle trend and proud cultural tag thanks to the efforts of people like Al Gore and David Suzuki, but in the world of Ontario politics, it hasn’t quite reached its potential.
The Green Party once again failed to break through in a Canadian election on Wednesday. At last count, party leader Frank De Jong had only garnered about 10 per cent of the vote in his Davenport riding.
More successful was Green candidate Shane Jolley, who finished second to veteran Conservative Bill Murdoch in the southwest riding of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. Murdoch has held the seat for years.
