Man Arrested After Incidents At Wave Pool In Richmond Hill

It’s a place where kids congregate, especially on a long weekend. And it’s a place where cops contend an alleged pedophile was waiting for them. York Regional Police have laid a number of charges against a 49-year-old man, after an incident at the well known Wave Pool in Richmond Hill.

The place was packed with kids around 3pm Sunday afternoon, when staff and patrons at the water-logged attraction claimed they saw a strange man touching several youngsters in the pool. Cops also say the suspect was touching himself after his close encounters and it didn’t take long for authorities to show up to the Hopkins St. address.

A man was taken into custody  without incident at the scene.

So far, police have located two alleged victims but they think there may have been more. If you saw anything they need to know call 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7071, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Robert Loveys of Vaughan is facing a number of charges, including two counts of sexual assault.
