CityNews reporter Jim McKenny made a name for himself as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs throughout the late 60s and 70s, but like many hockey players, he turned to golf when his career on the ice came to an end. On Thursday he teed off at the famed Pebble Beach golf course and pared the legendary 18th hole. And he didn’t even have to leave Toronto to do it.
McKenny became one of many golf fanatics who refused to let the winter weather weaken his swing when he visited InnerGolf on Thursday.
A short five minute drive from downtown Toronto, the new complex on Sudbury St. boasts a slew of accurate simulators that allow you to hone your skills and get your golf fix regardless of the weather. The facility is also home to a full service health spa, and a state of the art fitness studio.
“We really want to make it a comfortable place to hang out,” stresses owner Mark Walker. “Sort of a golf club for those of us who don’t have a golf club.”
“(The simulators are) radar based, which means that we could do things that we could never, ever do in the old simulators.”
You can play 30 different courses at InnerGolf. For more info, check out their website.
