Pick-up collides with garbage truck in Mississauga, occupants escape with minor injuries

Three occupants are lucky to be alive after the pick-up truck they were travelling in slammed into the back of a garbage truck in Mississauga.

Police were called to the intersection of Mavis Road and Matheson Boulevard just after 3:30 p.m.

The pick-up truck had become wedged underneath the garbage truck, but the three occupants inside escaped with only minor injuries. The two men and 16-year-old male were taken to hospital for treatment.

The intersection remains closed as crews work to clear the roadway.
