Toronto film industry generated $1.13B in 2011: report

The film industry spent $1.13 billion shooting in Toronto last year, the best year it has had in a decade, according to a city report.
The spending on major productions, such as feature films, TV specials and TV series, as well as commercials and animation, also soared 25 per cent from the $903 million of expenditures in 2010.
The bulk of the 2011 spending — $957.8 million — came from major productions, including 47 feature films, 93 TV specials and 92 TV series.
Some of the 2011 feature films shot in Toronto included Total Recall, Resident Evil: Retribution and Goon.
