StreetBeat – Feb. 14 – Big Rig Straddles 401 Median After Crash

Tractor Trailer Crash

Road crews are working to clear a tractor trailer off the road after it crashed on Highway 401 at Bayview and became stuck against the median.

The cab apparently climbed a snowbank, straddling the highway divider just after 3am Thursday. The driver was transported to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for treatment but fortunately his injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.

Lanes were closed on both side of the highway but workers were attempting to haul away the mangled truck in order to fully re-open the road. Lanes in both directions were fully reopened by 8am.
