Woman killed in Mississauga shooting

A 24-year-old woman is dead after a shooting overnight in Mississauga.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at a business on Torbram Road near Drew Road, north of Derry Road, just after 2:45 a.m. Monday.

Paramedics said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified the woman but are not releasing her name at this time.

Police said the shooting happened outside the business, which they believe was in the process of closing down for the evening at the time.

There has been no word on if the woman was an employee of the building.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

Police believe several people were in the area around the time and are asking anyone who has not spoken with police about the incident to contact investigators.
