Man killed in Parkdale stabbing

A man has died after being stabbed in Parkdale on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene near King Street and Jameson Avenue just before 2 p.m.
The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.
He has been identified as 51-year-old Andrew Downs, of Toronto.
Dale Nelson, 31, of Toronto turned himself in shortly after the incident yesterday and has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police say the suspect and the victim were known to each other and the incident began with a verbal altercation.
The homicide unit has taken over. This is the 73rd homicide in Toronto this year.
