ELMSFORD, N.Y. (AP) _ Party City Holdco Inc. (PRTY) on Friday reported a loss of $541.5 million in its first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Elmsford, New York-based company said it had a loss of $5.80. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 28 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 14 cents per share.
The party supplies retailer and wholesaler posted revenue of $414 million in the period.
The company’s shares closed at $1.42. A year ago, they were trading at $7.47.
