Ontario is reporting 704 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, a rise from the 658 cases reported on Sunday.
Most of the new cases are in Toronto (244), Peel Region (168), York Region (103), and Ottawa (51).
The province says it conducted nearly 31,900 tests in the previous day.
Four more people have died, bringing the total death count to 3,050. Of the total deaths, 1,980 were people in long-term care. Sixty-nine people are currently in Intensive Care Units, with forty on ventilators.
Meanwhile, stricter public health measures went into effect in York Region today.
Indoor service in restaurants is prohibited, gyms and movie theatres are closed and public gatherings can be no larger than 10 people indoors or 25 people outdoors.
The measures will be in effect for 28 days.
Ottawa, Toronto and neighbouring Peel Region were placed under similar restrictions to York just over a week ago.
