They’ve found the car involved in an accident that left a Brampton man dead and the driver on the run.
The accident may not have entirely been an accident at all. It happened early Saturday morning, just minutes after a group at Steeles and Airport Road got into some kind of early morning traffic dispute.
Christy Mayooran Anton-Pious eventually got back into his GMC Envoy and left the scene.
He arrived at Rutherford and Orenda Road about 4:30am and got out of his vehicle. But it soon became apparent he was followed. As he walked away from his parking spot, a black Acura roared out of the darkness and headed straight for him.
He collapsed on the roadway as the car headed out of sight. The 21-year-old was rushed to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, but succumbed to his injuries.
Acting on a tip, cops went to a local body shop in North York Thursday and found a key clue – the vehicle that struck Anton-Pious.
Authorities have seized it and are subjecting it to an extensive forensic exam.
Now they want to find the man behind the wheel.
Cops say he’s 25-year-old Andrew Harris of North York. They’ve issued a warrant for second degree murder against him and are trying to find him.
If you know where he is, call (905) 453-2121, ext. 3205, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS/8477.
