Toronto police say a man has died following a shooting in a North York neighbourhood.
Emergency crews were called to the Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue area just before 9 p.m. Sunday.
According to police, it was reported that the man was driving his car into the parking garage at 40 Falstaff when he was shot multiple times. His vehicle then rolled and hit the closed underground garage doors.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle was found a shot time later, fully engulfed in flames at Earl Bales Park.
The homicide division has taken over the investigation.
This is the city’s fifth homicide of the year.
