Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Japan Due To Turbulence

The plane encountered the bumpy conditions shortly after taking off from Shanghai, China bound for Vancouver. Four of the 11 cabin attendants, all Canadians, suffered injuries that are said to be non life-threatening, mostly cuts and bruises.

“Four flight attendants sustained some injuries and as a result the flight was diverted to Narita,” Air Canada spokeswoman Angela Mah said.

None of the 186 passengers was hurt.

Air Canada Flight 38 landed at Tokyo’s Narita Airport where airline officials were making arrangements for passengers to stay overnight.

This incident occurred shortly after a Japanese domestic flight encountered severe turbulence, injuring a cabin attendant and a passenger. It landed safely at Haneda Airport as scheduled.

JAL Flight 1348 was carrying 373 passengers and 11 crew from Kobe and hit turbulence about half an hour into the flight.
