Tina Fey Happy To Never Play Sarah Palin Again

There are a lot of people in the U.S. who seemed delirious when Barack Obama won the presidency Tuesday night.

But few were more pleased than Tina Fey.

As you probably know by now, the star bears an uncanny resemblance to Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and that had the talented writer-actress forced to return time and again to her old job on Saturday Night Live to take part in skits centering around that remarkable coincidence.

Fey was afraid it might become a full time gig if John McCain won the White House.

But with the result of the U.S. election, she’s breathing a sigh of relief because her job writing, acting and producing the sitcom “30 Rock” (seen Thursday nights at 9:30pm on Citytv) is already taking up too much of her time.

“I have to retire just because I have to do my day job,” Fey told Entertainment Weekly.

The 38-year-old was hoping not to have to take on the role of her real-life alter ego again after the 4th of November and voters granted her wish.

But her desire wasn’t purely professional. It turns out Fey, to no one’s real surprise, isn’t a big fan of the Republican Party. How much does she dislike the GOP? The star admits that if McCain and Palin had taken the White House, she planned on “leaving Earth.”

Although she didn’t say exactly where she might have gone.
