Getting from one end of the city to the other will take longer than usual this weekend with the Gardiner Expressway closing for annual spring maintenance.
Starting Saturday at 4am, all lanes in both directions will be closed from the Don Valley Parkway to the Humber River. They will reopen on Monday at 5am.
The eastbound express lanes of the Gardiner will be closed from Kipling Ave. to Royal York Rd. from 2am Saturday until 12am Sunday.
Crews will be clearing catchbasins; repairing the Jameson bridge; maintaining pavement, signs, guiderails, and closed circuit television cameras; and removing litter.
Also, the westbound express lanes of the Gardiner from Islington to Kipling Ave. will be closed Sunday from 6am to 4pm for work that was supposed to happen last weekend. It was postponed because of the weather.
