StreetBeat – July 20 – Peel Police Need Help Identifying Deceased Man

Peel Police need your help identifying a deceased man.

The victim was hit by a westbound GO Train near Alexandra Avenue on July 19 around 10:15pm. Investigators believe he had walked onto the tracks but aren’t sure why. He was not carrying any identification. 

The victim is described as:

  • white
  • possibly middle age
  • average height and weight
  • straight black hair
  • He was wearing a black zip up fleece sweater with “office solutions” embroidered on the chest, a white shirt, khaki green cargo shorts, white socks and white New Balance, size 9.5, runners.

A bicycle that may have belonged to the man was found near the scene. It is described as a grey mountain bike, CCM model M5000, with plastic fenders.

Police Seeking Witnesses To Collision

Peel Police are looking for anyone who may have seen a Monday-night crash that sent three people to hospital.

The collision occurred around 7:30pm on July 19. Investigators believe that a 48-year-old Mississauga woman was behind the wheel of a black 1999 Toyota UVL, heading north on Ninth Line.

But as she approached Lacman Trail, she crossed the centre line and struck a southbound vehicle.

A 42-year-old man and his son, 16, were in that southbound vehicle, a white 2006 Chevy ISS.

The woman was air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma hospital with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. The second driver and his son were both transported to a local hospital, with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Sex Assault At Mid-Town Store

Police are searching for a suspect after a sexual assault was reported in the Yonge and Eglinton area.

A man walked into a retail store on Yonge Street around 2pm Tues., July 13, sexually assaulted a woman working there and then took off, authorities said.

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • 30 to 40-years-old
  • 5’10” – 6’ with a medium build
  • Short dark hair with some grey
  • He was wearing a long-sleeve shirt
