Ford deemed the most trustworthy: Nanos poll

TORONTO, Ont. – Mayoral candidate Rob Ford’s “tell it like it is” attitude, combined with a simple promise to stop the gravy train at city hall, appears to be paying off.

The Nanos Research survey released Monday placed Ford in a commanding lead, but further data from Nanos released Tuesday, showed the frugal politician is considered the most trustworthy.

Nearly 29 per cent of people surveyed said they trusted Ford more than any of the other candidates.

George Smitherman followed with 13 per cent, Joe Pantalone at 12 per cent, Rocco Rossi at seven per cent and Sarah Thomson at five per cent.

Pollster Nik Nanos added people find Ford accessible and real.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Star reported the Ford campaign team has been warned to be on their best behaviour as scrutiny over the front-runner intensifies.
