Deadline Thursday for removal of municipal election signs

TORONTO, Ont. – The municipal candidates have until the end of Thursday to get their election signs down.

The City of Toronto said there’s a recycling program in place so that no fees are charged at their six depot locations, as long as the sign is separated from the post.

City officials told 680News that most candidates have provided a $250 deposit to the city clerk’s office.

If their signs are not removed on time and the city has to do it, money will be taken from that deposit. After that money is gone, candidates will be charged about $25 per sign.
