TORONTO- An Ottawa man who killed his father with a crossbow and a hammer inside Toronto’s Main Street Library in 2010 has been sentenced to life, with no chance of parole for 10 years.
Zhou Fang pleaded guilty to shooting his father, Si William Chang, 52, with a crossbow and then crushing his skull with a hammer inside the library.
The incident happened during the afternoon when the library was packed with children and other patrons.
Fang, who had been living in Ottawa, was arrested blocks away from the library.
His lawyer argued his client had suffered a lifetime of abuse from his father.
Police have told CityNews that Fang previously served jail time for assaulting his wife.
