SURREY (NEWS1130) – The impaired driving trial of the woman accused of hitting and killing four year old Alexa Middelaer in Ladner has started.
Fifty-seven year old Carol Berner is on trial in Surrey provincial court for four counts including impaired driving causing death. She was charged after the May 2008 crash that killed the young girl and badly injured the pre-schooler’s aunt.
The accident was one of the reasons B.C. brought in tougher rules aimed at impaired drivers.
