The Raptors’ jersey is a mashup of the previously worn OVO-style jerseys with the old-school dinosaur on the front.
The jerseys are being released to honour the 75th anniversary of the NBA’s first game, a 68-66 loss for the Toronto Huskies against the New York Knicks.
The Huskies played only one season in the league before they folded, finishing with a 22-38 record, but Canada’s legacy in the league goes far beyond that one game and one season.
The first-place Knicks (5-1) host the Raptors (4-3) on Monday night to mark the anniversary. Rookie Scottie Barnes is doubtful to play because of a right thumb sprain. Pascal Siakam, Yuta Watanabe and David Johnson also remain out for the Raptors.
Toronto enters the game winners of two straight.
