Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck in west end

A pedestrian has suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the west end of the city.

Police say the driver of a white Chevrolet Cruze was going northbound on Old Weston Road when he crashed into a parked vehicle just north of Turnberry Avenue just after 8 p.m. Friday.

A 32-year-old man who was standing outside his parked car was struck as part of the chain reaction collision and suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Cruze fled the scene on foot.

Police indicated in a tweet that the car may have been stolen but offered no further details.
