Man arrested for allegedly stabbing bank employee during robbery in Chinatown

Toronto police have arrested a 43-year-old man who allegedly stabbed an employee during a robbery at a BMO bank in Chinatown last month.
Police were called to the bank in the area of Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue just before 1 p.m. on June 27, for reports of a hold-up.
Police say a man armed with a large knife and wearing a mask and hoodie, walked into the bank, jumped over the counter and demanded money from the employee. The employee took money out of their wallet and offered it to the suspect, which he grabbed and then allegedly stabbed the employee multiple times.
The suspect fled through an emergency exit at the back of the bank.
The employee suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Earlier this month, police issued an arrest warrant for Mark Webster from Toronto and released his photo. In an update on Wednesday, Toronto police said OPP officers arrested him on Tuesday.
He is facing the following charges:
- Two counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
- Two counts of Assault With Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Disguise With Intent
- Weapons Dangerous
- Fail To Comply With Recognizance
- Fail to Comply Probation Order
- Two counts of Use Credit Card Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under
