Durham police investigate fatal Pickering stabbing

Durham regional police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 56-year-old man in Pickering on Friday night.

Police were called to a home on Rosebank Road near Sheppard Avenue at around 7:12 p.m. for reports of an injured man.

The victim, who was stabbed multiple times, was rushed to a trauma centre and later pronounced dead.

A male suspect has been arrested and police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The suspect’s age has not been released.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
