Man critically injured in stabbing at Wilson subway station; 1 suspect in custody, another at large

A rush hour stabbing at Wilson subway station leaves a victim with life-threatening injuries according to Toronto Police Services. Jazan Grewal reports on the suspect and further details.

A man in his 50s is in life-threatening condition after being found with stab wounds in Wilson subway station on Thursday night.

Police say they were called to the station around 5:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Paramedics rushed the man to a nearby trauma centre with what were initially termed non-life threatening wounds. However, his condition was listed at life-threatening later in the evening.

A woman in her 20s also suffered minor injuries, although it’s not clear how she sustained them. Police said she was taken into custody at the scene.

Investigators are searching for a second suspect, a 21-year-old man, described as five foot eleven and last seen wearing all-black clothing.

Subway trains and busses were bypassing Wilson Station for most of the evening as police investigated the incident.
