Man, 39, faces murder in Etobicoke death

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and faces a murder charge following the death of a 49-year-old man at a townhouse complex in Etobicoke, police say.

Police say “a very violent confrontation” occurred Wednesday morning between the two men who were in the same apartment on Arbordell Road in the Kipling Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard area. They were “friendly towards each other” before the incident and police say they aren’t looking for any other suspects, Det.-Sgt. Justin Vander Heyden said.

The victim, who suffered trauma to his upper body and face, was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 a.m. at the scene. He was Toronto’s 11th homicide victim this year.

Homicide police are still investigating and interviewing neighbours as well as another person who lived in the apartment.

The names of the accused and the victim weren’t disclosed.
